The Medical Student Research Award program is designed to give first-year medical students at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar the opportunity to take the lead in securing their own research experiences during the summer break between the first and second year of the medical school program. Every student who aims to get funded has to go through the application process. The MSRA puts the responsibility on the students for providing details regarding their research plan, and travel and housing arrangements.
The MSRA allows for funding in the following areas:
- Stipend for the students
- Good academic standing
- Active student status; not on leave
- Sign a condition of award upon acceptance
- Research plan with justified cost
- Approval from the host PI of the research plan.
