Specialized Biomedical Research Training

The Specialized Biomedical Research Training program (SBRT) is a 6 to 12 months specialized training at WCM-Q aimed towards recent university graduates who are interested in pursuing careers in biomedical research-related fields by offering specialized hands-on training in the area of the intern’s interest that matches ongoing research within WCM-Q Labs. The training provides opportunities in a specialized field post-graduation to enhance the trainees’ ability to launch their careers in that field, which will help sustain a biomedical research community nationally in the long term.

The program welcomes recent university graduates from Universities in Qatar.

The SBRT internship can be in:

  • Wet lab science: This includes a variety of hands-on techniques for interns interested in bench science.
  • Dry lab science: This includes a variety of computer-based research techniques for interns.
  • Clinical research: This includes learning the patient recruiting process, developing protocols, and designing studies.
  • Population health research: This includes a variety of epidemiology, public health and biostatistics techniques.
    • The program supports Qatari nationals and long-term residents of Qatar.
    • Recent bachelor’s or master’s degree graduates, however candidates at any career stage will be considered case-by-case.
