Governance and Leadership

The following structure has been established for the governance of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q):
  • The Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar reports directly to the Dean and Provost of Weill Cornell Medicine and, through him, to the President of Cornell University, WCM Board of Overseers, and Cornell University Board of Trustees.
  • The Cornell Boards of Overseers and Trustees are responsible and provide oversight for the operation of the academic programs.
  • Qatar Foundation provides and is responsible for oversight of the facilities.
  • A Joint Advisory Board provides advice and assistance to the parties and the Dean of WCM-Q. The Joint Advisory Board comprises four members selected by the Cornell Boards, four by Qatar Foundation, and an additional three independent members who are selected jointly.
