Ghizlane Bendriss, PhD, Assistant Professor of Biology

Dalia Zakaria, MSc., PhD, Assistant Professor of Biology

Spring - 3 Credits

This course follows on from BioG 2010 last semester in further developing the students' understanding of organ system physiology. The systems covered will be the somatosensory system, olfactory system, gustatory system, auditory system and visual system. Students will also be introduced to the human immune system. This includes an introduction to the cells, molecules and tissues that comprise the immune system and the ways these components participate in immune responses to infectious microorganisms in the human. Tutorials will emphasize the clinical aspect of the organ systems as well as their response to immunological disruption.
