Physiology and Immunology - BIOG 2011

Sean Holroyd, PhD, Associate Professor of Teaching in Physiology and Biophysics

Dalia Zakaria, PhD, Lecturer in Biology

Spring - 3 Credits

This course follows on from BioG2010 last semester in further developing the students' understanding of organ system physiology. The organ systems covered will be the pulmonary, gastro-intestinal, renal, endocrine and reproductive. Students will also be introduced to the human immune system. This includes an introduction to the cells, molecules and tissues that comprise the immune system and the ways these components participate in immune responses to infectious microorganisms in the human. Tutorials will emphasize the clinical aspect of the organ systems as well as their response to immunological disruption.
