Grocery Shopping & Unpacking

Exercise precautions when shopping for groceries
Exercise precautions when shopping for groceries

#Grocery Shopping Transmission of the coronavirus has not been shown to occur through eating, but precautions when shopping for food may prevent viral spread. Follow these simple steps:
  • Make a grocery list before leaving your house and limit the store visit to one person
  • Wear a face mask and gloves. Avoid touching your nose, mouth and eyes
  • Make sure that the shopping carts and baskets that you are using have been disinfected
  • Keep at least 2 meters distance between you and other shoppers
  • Use an alcohol based hand sanitizer immediately after leaving the store

#Unpacking Groceries After putting groceries away, throw away disposable bags, wash hands, and disinfect countertops/other surfaces. Virus on the surface of groceries will become inactivated over time after groceries are put away. The inner contents of sealed containers are unlikely to be contaminated. Reusable bags can be stored for later use.
