Principles of Biochemistry - BIOG 3345

Ali Chaari, PhD, Assistant Professor of Biology

Fall - 3 Credits

This course provides an overview of the main aspects of biochemistry and relates molecular interactions to their effects on the organism as a whole, especially as related to human biology. The organization of macromolecules is addressed through a discussion of their hierarchical structure and a study of their assembly into complexes responsible for specific biological processes. During the course the students will learn how to correlate biochemical concepts learned during the lectures with clinical aspects in diseases and how to make the link between biochemistry and other courses like physiology using case studies or presentations.
