Description
|
An elective course in otolaryngology for medical college students typically spans a four-week duration and aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of ear, nose, and throat (ENT) medicine and surgery. The objectives of such a rotation may include:
- Learn about diagnosis and management of common ENT conditions, including otitis, sinusitis, and tonsillitis.
- Understand the anatomy and physiology of the ear, nose, and throat.
- Learn common clinical presentations of ENT conditions and management
- Learn how to take history and do examination
- Learn about diagnostic tools
- Attend didactic session, morning report, tutorials and case discussions for in-depth learning and stay updated with the latest guidelines and research in otolaryngology.
- Patient safety and ethical aspects
Students attend outpatient and inpatient clinics, ENT OR, participate in didactic sessions, and gain a comprehensive understanding of otolaryngology by the end of the elective.
