Description
|
The goal of this elective is to provide a customized rotation at HGH and off-site orthopaedic clinic in general adult and/or pediatric musculoskeletal disorders for the student. Emphasis will be placed on an understanding of the pathophysiology of the disorders, development of clinical diagnostic skills, and mastering primary treatment and prevention interventions. Students will spend the majority of their time in the ambulatory arena working with physicians. Additionally, students will participate in management of Orthopedic Trauma and Emergencies. The preceptors will be chosen as related to the goals of the student. The overall theme of the rotation is to offer one month of dedicated exposure to musculoskeletal disease for the future non-surgeon as well as the future surgeon. The elective may involve evening or night calls.
