ACCME
Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
WCM-Q applied for accreditation with the ACCME in April 2016 and, following submission of a self-study, performance-in-practice documentation and an accreditation interview, was awarded accreditation as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians in November 2016.
In 2018, through the division of CPD, WCM-Q was awarded the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME’s) highest level of accreditation – Accreditation with Commendation - that extends WCM-Q’s accreditation period for six years until November 2024. This International recognition is further evidence of the quality and depth of the CME/CPD activities developed at WCM-Q that meet the needs of the healthcare workforce in Qatar and beyond by advancing interprofessional collaborative practice, addressing public health priorities, creating behavioral change, showing leadership, leveraging educational technology, and demonstrating the impact of education on healthcare professionals and patients. Additionally, WCM-Q is recognized locally as an accredited provider by the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP), formerly Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP).
All applicants are expected to familiarize themselves with Weill Cornell’s continuing medical education guidelines and policies as well as the ACCME ”essentials” for CME activities. Additional documents may be required by the CME committee. These are outlined in the application form and guidelines.
