Medicine Unlimited 2012

Exploring the World of Medicine at WCMC-Q

Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar opened its doors Saturday March 17th for its annual recruitment fair, Medicine Unlimited, which offered high school students and their families a glimpse of science and medicine and the possibility of a career in health care. The interactive event introduced the students to WCMC-Q faculty, who shared simulations and demonstrations that reviewed the workings of genes, molecules and the human body. Staff members from the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs were also available to discuss the requirements for entrance to and success in WCMC-Q. At tables lining the academic wing of the WCMC-Q building, faculty members shared a bit of medical science and research experience with the students. For the first time ever some parts of the research labs were available for guided tours. A quiz show allowed students to test their knowledge and win valuable prizes.

The event was attended by more than 500 students and their parents.
