In October, WCM-Q student clubs and organizations hosted a wide range of events on and off campus, with support from the Division of Student Affairs (SA).

The Medical Student Executive Council-Qatar (MSEC-Q) organized Charity Week 2026, a weeklong series of activities through which students worked with Education Above All Foundation to raise funds to improve access to education for vulnerable children. In support of the initiative, the Global & Populations Health Society hosted a Students Versus Faculty/Staff Charity Football Match, a friendly game held at Qatar Foundation.

To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and improve understanding of the disease, the Obstetrics and Gynecology & Women’s Health Interest Group hosted Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The event was held in collaboration with the SA’s Health and Wellness team, and several student interest groups and clubs, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Psychiatry, Radiology, Urology, Qatari Student Association, and Knit & Crochet.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Interest Groups.

The Hematology & Oncology Interest Group marked World Thrombosis Day with a session that gave participants an opportunity to learn more about thrombosis and gain practical knowledge of vascular point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). The SA’s Health and Wellness team also hosted an event for World Mental Health Day to raise awareness of mental health and equip students with coping skills to support their wellbeing.

The Ophthalmology Student Interest Group hosted a Cow Eye Dissection session to help students understand the anatomy of the eye and the functions of its structures. The event was supervised by WCM-Q faculty members Dr. James Roach, associate dean for pre-medical education and visiting professor of chemistry, and Dr. Mhd Abdallah Mahrous, a WCM-Q alumnus from the Class of 2015.

The Quintessential Quill Arts Club hosted Drama Afternoon, a pilot event for its Drama Afternoons initiative, which encourages monologue performances and highlights the role of acting in developing students’ soft skills. Dr. Rodney Sharkey, professor of English at WCM-Q, led the event, while Lebanese visual artist Rayyane Tabet participated as a guest speaker.

The Weill Cornell Music Club also organized Summer Vibes, an engaging event featuring live singing performances, fun-filled mini-games, and karaoke.

The Muslim Student Association organized an introductory event to give students an overview of its upcoming events for the 2026-2027 academic year and explain how they could get involved.

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) organized classes to help workers improve their English language and learn practical skills for everyday life. The sessions are scheduled to take place every Tuesday and Thursday until December 3. Through this student-led initiative, club members give back to the people who help keep the campus running, including cleaning, security, and maintenance staff.

Karak Thursdays also returned, with the Qatari Students Association offering the WCM-Q community an opportunity to experience Qatari hospitality through traditional food and beverages every Thursday until November 26.
