Student Affairs and Club Activities – March
MSEC-Q, MSA, and SA organized a student Iftar at WCM-Q.
In March, student clubs and organizations at WCM-Q hosted a variety of initiatives with support from the Division of Student Affairs.
The month featured elections conducted by Student Affairs in collaboration with the Medical Student Executive Council-Qatar (MSEC-Q) to select new representatives for the 2025-2026 academic year. A total of 22 representatives were chosen, including Maryam Arabi as MSEC-Q president and Yousef Al-Najjar as vice president, both from the Class of 2026. Additionally, new first-year pre-medical and foundation class representatives will be selected at the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester, completing the list of 28 representatives.

In the spirit of Ramadan, MSEC-Q, the Muslim Student Association (MSA), and the Division of Student Affairs organized an Iftar at WCM-Q, attended by approximately 100 people. The event also included edutainment activities that highlighted the significance of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The MSA, in collaboration with the Health & Wellness team, hosted the Ramadan 2025 Journal initiative to support students’ wellbeing and promote a healthy lifestyle during Ramadan. Throughout the month, participating students received journals and guided reflection questions to help develop coping mechanisms and time management skills. Each student documented their reflections, with health and wellness counselors available for support.
In collaboration with Sidra Medicine, the Bond and Blend Club organized Eid for Everyone, a donation campaign to collect toys for distribution to children at Sidra Medicine during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. Drop-off locations were set up at various points around WCM-Q, allowing students, faculty, and staff to participate. The campaign was originally initiated in 2024 by the late student Aisha Kafoud, whose vision was to bring joy to children staying in the hospital during the Eid period. Additionally, the club organized the Gift Bags for Dorm Students initiative to support WCM-Q students living in the Qatar Foundation residence halls who are away from home during this special month. Club members worked together to prepare and personally distribute the gift bags to students.
In addition to the student leadership elections and events, Basel Ahmed, a medical student from the Class of 2028, won second prize for his video in a competition organized by the Qatar Cancer Society. The competition was designed to raise awareness for World Cancer Day.
