The new year kicked off on a high note as student clubs and organizations at WCM-Q hosted a number of activities with support from the Division of Student Affairs.

The Desi Culture Club hosted Kahoot and Khana: An Ode to Ghazal, an interactive, culturally themed Kahoot that introduced the historical emergence of the ghazal and the Mughal period, which facilitated the blending of Persian and South Asian traditions. The event featured ghazal music and food inspired by the culinary practices of the era, giving students a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Indian subcontinent.

The WCM-Q Knit and Crochet Club organized an Awareness Ribbon Crafting Workshop, teaching participants how to knit ribbon keychains using an i-cord maker. The ribbons were created in preparation for this year’s awareness months.

The Student Affairs Health and Wellness team organized a Community Building Event to foster bonding, positive interactions, and inclusive engagement among students. The team also hosted a Puzzle Day to support mental health and wellbeing, encouraging students to engage in their preferred coping strategies and learn self-care techniques through various puzzles and critical-thinking games.

The Endocrinology Interest Group organized an educational Endocrine Trivia Game. Hosted on the interactive Kahoot app, the game was designed to educate attendees on endocrine disorders and encourage meaningful discussion on the topic.

One of the highlights of the year, International Night, organized by the Medical Student Executive Council-Qatar (MSEC-Q), is scheduled for April 2, 2026. This annual event brings together WCM-Q faculty, staff, and students, along with their families, to celebrate cultural diversity through performances, food, and activities. Members of the WCM-Q community are welcome to participate individually or as part of a group by signing up for country booths and performances before February 5, 2026.
