Student Affairs and Club Activities – December
In December, student clubs and organizations at WCM-Q organized a variety of activities both on and off campus, supported by the Division of Student Affairs.
The Class of 2028 organized the Anatomy Memorial Service to honor individuals who donated their bodies to advance medical education. Held at the end of the ‘Essential Principles of Medicine (EPOM)’ course, the ceremony marked the end of students’ time in the dissection lab. Representatives from the eleven anatomy groups expressed their gratitude for the donors’ sacrifices. The event offered students and faculty a chance to reflect on the enormous contributions these donors made to medical research and education.
The Student Reach Club, in collaboration with DeapQatar Conservation, organized a beach clean-up at the Singing Sand Dunes of Qatar, located about 25 miles southwest of Doha. One hundred and forty student volunteers, including 30 from universities across Education City, participated in the event, collecting approximately 661 pounds of trash from the area.
Additionally, ‘Charity Week 2024,’ organized by the Medical Student Executive Council-Qatar (MSEC-Q), raised an impressive USD 5,997—the highest amount ever collected during the event. Coordinated in partnership with the Education Above All Foundation, the initiative aimed to support access to education for vulnerable children in the region.
