Faculty Excellence Awards 2026
Winners of the WCM-Q Faculty Excellence Awards 2026 with Dr. Javaid Sheikh, dean.
Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) paid tribute to the exceptional teaching ability and dedication of its medical faculty with the annual Faculty Excellence Awards ceremony.
This year there were 28 winners in nine categories. Dr. Javaid Sheikh, dean of WCM-Q, and Dr Thurayya Arayssi, vice dean for academic and curricular affairs, were in attendance to present the awards to the winners. Medical students Ms. Reem Al-Janahi, president of MSEC-Q (Class of 2027) and Ms. Batool Arabi, secretary of MSEC-Q (Class of 2029), announced the Convocation Awards.
Dr. Sheikh said: “It is a privilege to once again celebrate the achievements and commitment of our outstanding medical faculty. I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all our faculty members for their continued efforts to uphold our shared commitment to excellence and to furthering the vision of WCM-Q. Thank you most sincerely for all that you do.”
Dr. Arayssi said: “I would like to commend our medical faculty for their exceptional achievements and contributions throughout the past academic year. These awards provide a fitting opportunity to celebrate their dedication to our students and their invaluable role in advancing our institution’s mission.”
