Basketball triumph for WCM-Q in Education City tournament
The WCM-Q men’s team beat Texas A&M University at Qatar in the final to win the 2022 Education City basketball competition.
The men’s Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) basketball team is celebrating after clinching victory in the Education City cup competition.
The team secured the cup with a 54-45 win over the team from Texas A&M University at Qatar in the final. The winning team comprised Adeeb Narangoli, Omar Mhaimeed, Anas Abed, Hamza Chaudhry, Abdullah Alobaidi, Kareem Aly, Fahad Zamir, Ahmed Aly and Khalifa Bshesh.
Med 4 student and team captain Adeeb said: “I am so happy that we were able to win the championship in my last year at Cornell, along with Omar and Anas. I’m proud of everyone who played their part perfectly and contributed towards us winning. I’m confident that WCM-Q can win it again next year and make it back-to-back!
