El-Awwa

Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed Saeed El-Awwa, MBBCh, MD, received his WCMC faculty appointment in 2012 and was promoted to assistant professor of Clinical Pediatrics in July 2020. He is a Consultant handling inpatient care in the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinics at both HMC and Sidra. In addition, he is the Program Director for the Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship and is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents as well as nurses and other healthcare providers. In 2020, he received an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Pediatric Residency Program. He actively contributes to the Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes as the Deputy Chair of the Communication Committee. Dr. El-Awwa holds an MBBCh, a master’s degree in Pediatrics, and a Doctor of Medicine (research) degree from Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine, Egypt.

Tawfik

Hassan Yousef Abbas Tawfik, MBBCh, received his WCMC faculty appointment in 2015 and was promoted to Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine in July 2020. He is a Senior Consultant at PHCC in charge of multiple clinics at the West Bay Health Center, including the antenatal care clinic, vaccination clinic, and well-baby clinic. He contributes to education at the PHCC, leading several courses and has actively contributed to several WCM-Q’s medical education courses. In addition, he serves as a preceptor for medical students rotating at his health center.  Dr. Tawfik received his MBBCh degree from Cairo University, Egypt.



Kundil

Muhammed Riyas Kundil Rahmath, MBBS, MD, received his WCMC faculty appointment in 2013 and was promoted to Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in January 2021. He is an Associate Consultant in Pediactric Cardiology at HMC. He treats complex congenital heart diseases in children, including performing and interpreting transthoracic echocardiography, and was also involved in initiating the pulmonary hypertension program for pediatric cardiology. Dr. Kundil Rahmath teaches WCM-Q medical students rotating in the Pediatric Cardiology OPD and provides them with echocardiography basic lessons. He received an MBBS from Calicut Medical College and an MD from TD Medical College in India.
