Global Health Service Learning Program

The Institute for Population Health will select 6 first year premedical students from WCM-Q for a two-week global health service learning experience in Ubud, Bali (Indonesia). The program will focus on promoting basic health education and hygiene skills in schools to help improve community health and wellbeing.

Learning objectives:
  • Empower young individuals with basic health education and hygiene skills to promote health and wellbeing
  • Recognize the meaning of cultural humility
  • Develop contextual inquisitiveness and cultural competence
  • Identify challenges associated with working in a new environment
  • Practice communication, collaboration, teaching, and health education skills
  • Examine reflective practice skills
