The new year kicked off with excitement as student clubs and organizations at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) hosted a series of activities supported by the Division of Student Affairs.

One of the highlights was the annual Winter Festival, formerly known as Basant. Organized by the Medical Student Executive Council-Qatar (MSEC-Q), the event celebrates the upcoming spring semester and offers a fun-filled evening for participants of all ages. The lively festival featured numerous outdoor activities, including kite flying, pot planting, mug painting, and a creative photo booth. Attendees also enjoyed a variety of delicious snacks from vendors, including popcorn, cotton candy, and assorted sandwiches.

To strengthen bonds among students, Foundation Class representatives at MSEC-Q organized Kashta, an initiative inspired by Qatari culture. The picnic-like gathering brought together students and faculty for fun-filled interactions and meaningful discussions on the Green Spine.

The Student Reach Club hosted a screening of the film Wajib to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis in the region through cinema. The event attracted a large audience and included interactive discussions about the film, fostering meaningful dialogue among participants.

Karak Thursdays returned, a beloved tradition initiated by the Qatari Student Association (QSA), inviting the WCM-Q community to enjoy authentic Qatari tea and hospitality every Thursday at the Student Lounge.

Finally, the Health and Wellness team organized a community-building event aimed at facilitating student bonding, encouraging positive interactions, and promoting inclusive engagement. Additionally, a Puzzle Day was organized to support mental health and wellbeing, allowing students to engage in their favorite coping strategies.
