Student Affairs and Club Activities – February
International Night
February was an exciting month for student clubs and organizations at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q), with support from the Division of Student Affairs.
The Medical Student Executive Council-Qatar (MSEC-Q), in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, the Dean’s Office, and the Division of Human Resources, organized International Night. This annual event celebrates the richness of cultural diversity through performances, food, and activities for children.
The Bond and Blend Club partnered with the Qatari Student Association (QSA) to host Charm Your Mind: Journaling & Crafting for Good Vibes. Participants engaged in writing and crafting sessions while enjoying authentic refreshments.
The Weill Cornell Music Club also held a Karaoke Night, offering students an opportunity to unwind and build community, while the pre-medical representatives of MSEC-Q organized a picnic that featured interactive games and fun activities to strengthen connections among class members.

The Cornell Running Club hosted Pre-Med Sports Day to promote health, wellness, and teamwork among students. They also organized Seen Jeem, a trivia competition for student teams, and launched Strides of Affirmation, where students wrote positive affirmations and motivational notes that will be shared during Run Club events to inspire participants and foster a sense of positivity, wellness, and community engagement. Additionally, the Health and Wellness team hosted a Random Acts of Kindness Day, encouraging students to spread positivity by performing small, kind gestures on campus.
The Pediatrics Interest Group collaborated with the Qatar Foundation Palestine Community Compound to provide a Refugee Volunteering Opportunity, which included enjoyable activities for children. Meanwhile, the WCM-Q Swim Club participated in the Qatar Foundation Swim Series Competition.
The Hematology & Oncology Interest Group marked World Cancer Day with a series of activities aimed at raising awareness about cancer screening and early detection. Additionally, the Student Interest Group in Neurology hosted a purple-themed Epilepsy Awareness Day featuring a seizure first-aid station, as well as educational jeopardy and puzzle games.
To promote women’s heart health, the Health and Wellness team organized the Wear Red Day campaign, which raised awareness about preventing heart disease in women. This red-themed event featured stations showcasing how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and other heart care tips. The team also set up an information booth titled The Importance of Nutrition, supported by the Qatar Foundation Nutritional Clinic, to help students adopt healthy eating habits, especially during busy schedules and the fasting month of Ramadan.
