Student Affairs and Club Activities – December
The WCM-Q men’s football team.
In December, student clubs and organizations at WCM-Q participated in a number of activities, both on and off campus, with support from the Division of Student Affairs.
The Class of 2029 hosted the annual Anatomy Memorial Service to honor individuals who donated their bodies to further medical education. The memorial service is a key component of the Essential Principles of Medicine (EPOM) course and marks the end of students’ dissection time in the anatomy suite. The event offered an opportunity for faculty and students to reflect on the significant contributions of donors and their families to medical education and research. Students also presented an art tile tribute to the donors.

The SA Health and Wellness team organized Finals Support Week to provide a supportive environment for students ahead of their final exams. Students were offered refreshments and treats throughout the week to help boost energy and morale.
The Pathology Student Interest Group (PathSIG) organized an online Treasure Hunt for medical students. The interactive edutainment activity aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge of pathology and help them develop problem-solving skills.
Additionally, five Cornell sports teams participated in Qatar Foundation’s Education City (EC) League and the National Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) competitions. The teams included men’s and women’s basketball and football, as well as a cricket team.
The WCM-Q women’s basketball team secured first place in the EC League, while the men’s basketball team placed second.

This year also marked the return of the WCM-Q women’s football team after several years, and they quickly made their presence known by securing second place in the EC League. The WCM-Q men’s football team reached the EC League semifinals and is now preparing to take on the QCSF League next semester.
