Admission Overview

Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) has announced a restructuring of its curriculum that will see its pre-medical and medical curriculum integrated into one cohesive six-year medical education program.

WCMC-Q applicants for the 2014-15 pre-medical program will automatically be reviewed for admission to the new, integrated six-year curriculum.

A single admission process will determine entrance to the six-year medical education program and students will progress through the course according to advancement criteria, which include academic performance, professionalism and commitment to the profession of medicine.

Students who successfully complete the six-year program are awarded the Cornell University Doctor of Medicine degree.

Our program will remain open to external applicants to the four year medical curriculum of the six-year program. External applicants (i.e. those who have not completed the WCMC-Q Pre-medical curriculum) are generally expected to have earned at least the equivalent of an American bachelor's degree by the time they have enrolled in our Medical Program. Required courses can be viewed here

Please note: The new six-year program process does not apply to the current pre-medical students. They will need to apply to the Medical program as planned.

Additional details will be available soon on the WCMC-Q website. Please contact Admissions Office at: admissions@qatar-med.cornell.edu for any additional information and questions.
