Prerequisites: D grade or better in CHEM 3570 (although C grade or better is strongly recommended) or permission of the instructor of record. 

Not recommended for students considering graduate school in chemistry.

Introduction to the synthesis, separation, characterization, and handling of materials, including the applications of different types of extraction, crystallization, and others. An experiment is performed the first week of lab.
