Prerequisites: C grade or better or permission of instructor of record.

The course is designed to provide students an overview of the human immune system. It includes introduction to the cells, molecules and tissues that comprise the immune system and the ways these components participate in immune responses to infectious microorganisms. Tissue injuries mediated by the over reaction of the immune system are also briefly addressed in the course.
