Dr. Mahrukh S. Rizvi is an assistant professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). She also serves as the director of the Emergency Medicine Clerkship, the co-director of the Internal Medicine and Anesthesia and Critical Care Clerkships, and co-lead of the Point of Care Ultrasound Curriculum at WCM-Q. Additionally, Dr. Rizvi is a consultant in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). She is American board certified in internal medicine, nephrology, and critical care medicine.

An alumna of WCM-Q, Dr. Rizvi completed her residency training in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital in New York. She then completed fellowships in nephrology and critical care at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Mayo Clinic, Rochester, respectively.

Dr. Rizvi is a passionate advocate for improving medical education. Her research focus has been on the utility of an oral vasopressor, midodrine, in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock. She has several peer-reviewed publica-tions and has presented at various national, regional, and international platforms.

Dr. Rizvi currently coordinates the annual WCM-Q Alumni Association conference in collaboration with WCM-Q’s Division of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
