The Color Run presented by Sahtak Awalan: Your Health First, an initiative of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, is returning to Doha on Saturday, 25 January 2020 at Qatar National Convention Centre. As part of the worldwide “Love Tour”, the fun-filled day will be spreading joy and raising awareness of the health benefits of keeping an active lifestyle.

The sixth edition of the Color Run in Qatar will bring the fun spirit that the event is known for all around the world. Participants will be soaked in bright colors as they run, walk, skip or jog along the 5km course with their family and friends. Everyone will celebrate their achievements at the end with prizes, music, photo opportunities, and a myriad of unforgettable moments.

Brought to the public by Sahtak Awalan: Your Health First, the flagship health campaign of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, the Color Run aims to attract everyone in Doha to participate in an exhilarating and colorful experience in order to encourage them to adopt a healthy and vigorous lifestyle.

Nesreen Al-Refai, Chief Communications Officer for Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, said: “Sports and exercise contribute to many aspects of our overall health including our mental state and skills such as creativity, intellect, and self-confidence. We are happier when we exercise, our stress levels are lower, boosting positive energy throughout our body, which in turn reshapes our state of mind, making us approach everything with a more positive attitude and determination.

“This is why Sahtak Awalan: Your Health First is bringing the Color Run to Qatar for the sixth year in a row. We want to inspire the people of Qatar to fulfill their aspirations for greatness by becoming a healthy and sport-oriented nation. The event has been a constant success, with participation numbers growing on yearly basis,” she added.

The 2019 event was a major success, with more than 9,000 runners participating in The Happiest 5k on the Planet. The 2020 edition promises to be bigger and better with even more people expected to take part. The event aims to encourage participants of all ages to be aware of the benefits of keeping fit and taking care of their wellbeing.

Since its inception in 2012, The Color Run has become a global phenomenon, continuing to innovate the 5k paint race genre each year. The Color Run has been experienced by more than 7 million people worldwide in 40+ countries and has donated a staggering $5 million to charity to date.
