About Qatar

Doha is served by one airport, Hamad International Airport, and Qatar Airways is the national air carrier. Please see the map for the location of the Sheraton.

Uber and official Karwa taxis are readily available across Doha, including at Hamad International Airport. For convenient and efficient travel within the city, Doha also offers a modern metro system ( Qatar Rail) which includes a station at the airport. Metro cards can be purchased at all stations, including the airport, with cash or credit card, and fares are 2 Qatari Riyals (approx. $0.55 USD) per trip.

The official currency of Qatar is the Qatari Riyal, which is the only accepted currency. However, international credit and debit cards are widely accepted across most businesses. For mobile connectivity, SIM cards from Qatar’s primary telecom providers, Ooredoo and Vodafone, can be purchased at the airport and from various kiosks throughout Qatar.
