ECS Fellowships
To encourage participation and support scientific exchange, ECS offers a number of Travel Fellowships,
in particular for early career researchers and researchers from emerging countries. For 2026, the ECS decided to increase its contingent of fellowships:
Junior travel fellowships
The ECS will allocate 16 travel fellowships up to €500 to early career researchers to facilitate their attendance. The selection will be based on abstract quality. The following conditions apply:

Applicants must be early career researchers (up to 6 years after obtaining a PhD degree discounting career breaks).

Applicants must be members of the ECS (ECS dues fully paid).

Applicants must have registered and paid the registration fee before applying.

Applicants should indicate at abstract submission that they are applying for an ECS fellowship.
Travel fellowships for established scientists from emerging countries
The ECS will allocate 3 travel fellowships up to €500 to researchers from emerging countries to facilitate their attendance. The selection will be based on abstract quality and motivation letter if required.
The following conditions apply for above fellowships:

Deadline is aligned with abstract submission (December 22, 2025).

Applicants must submit proof of eligibility and motivation letter if required.
- Recipients are expected to attend the meeting in person and acknowledge ECS support in their presentation or poster.
