Anna Halama is AssistantProfessor of Research in Physiology and Biophysics at Weill Cornell MedicineQatar (WCMQ). She obtained her PhD from the Technical University of Munich(TUM) in Germany in 2013. During her thesis, conducted at Helmholtz ZentrumMunchen, she used metabolomics as a technology to describe cellular processesincluding apoptosis and adipogenesis in various in vitro models. Prior to her facultyappointment, Dr. Halama obtained research training at WCMQ in Prof. Suhre’sgroup where she worked as postdoctoral fellow and research associate. She isworking in the field of metabolomics since over 9 years, with major interest incomplex diseases, particularly in cancer, diabetes and psoriasis. Dr. Halama isconducting her research toward determination of “metabolic knobs”, which couldbe used as targets for medical intervention.
