The circulating blood protein levels reflect the physiological state or condition of a healthy or diseased individual. A better understanding of quantitative blood-based protein signatures has the potential to drive medical applications in early diagnosis, prognosis and treatment decision of disease. Recently developed affinity-based assays, such as SOMAscan and Olink are promising to achieve these goals. In this talk, we will share analytical insights which we have gained at WCM-Q using the SOMAscan platform for the analysis of human blood samples.
