Qatari national Dr. Abdulrahman received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree in 2000 from King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah, KSA, and then served an internship at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Doha, Qatar from 2000 to 2001. She then joined the HMC Pediatrics Department, completing her residency there between 2002 and 2006, and then completed a fellowship in clinical and metabolic genetics at HMC between 2006 and 2010. In 2011, Dr. Abdulrahman was appointed Consultant in Clinical and Metabolic Genetics in the Pediatrics Department at HMC, before gaining promotion to her current position of Senior Consultant in Clinical and Metabolic Genetics in 2017. 

Dr. Abdulrahman was certified by the Arab Board for Pediatrics in 2006 and became a member of the Middle East Metabolic Genetic Group in 2007. She has completed specialist courses in genetic counseling, Fabry disease, lysosomal storage disorders, metabolic disorders in newborns, premarital testing and counseling and neurometabolic disorders. Additionally, she has attended numerous international conferences in a variety of locations, including Doha; Nijmegen and Amsterdam, Netherlands; Muscat, Oman; Birmingham, UK; and Istanbul, Turkey.
