We are delighted to invite you to attend Qatar's first international Congenital Dystrophies-Neuromuscular disorders precision medicine conference. The three-day meeting will focus on the most up-to-date knowledge and discoveries relating to genomics and the treatment of congenital muscle dystrophies that investigations have shown to be most prevalent in the State of Qatar. Advances made in gene therapy developments and the prevention of mitochondrial diseases will be among the major translational themes of the event. The conference also provides an opportunity to facilitate networking, expertise sharing and collaboration among international medical and research professionals with an interest in Myology.
As the organizing chairperson, I would very much like to thank Qatar Foundation for their continuous and unstinting efforts to sponsor high-profile conferences in Qatar, which does so much to support translational sciences in rare diseases. I would also like to extend my most sincere thanks and appreciation to the conference planning committee, the Research Events team at WCMQ, our distinguished local and international speakers as well as Ministry of Public Health in Qatar. The professionalism, enthusiasm and willingness to contribute to open discussions shown by all of these groups makes it possible to have the most up-to-date genetic and therapeutic services available to our patients through the healthcare system in Qatar.
We hope and anticipate that the conference, which will take place in the coolest and most pleasant month of the year, will be very well attended and will attract leading figures in the research and treatment of congenital dystrophies and neuromuscular disorders (NMDs). We also hope that this conference will mark the starting point of an ongoing series of events focused on genomic and translational research in Qatar in collaboration with established international NMD networks and societies.
