Dr. Mahmoud Fawzi is a pediatric neurologist and a researcher with a special interest in pediatric neurogenetic diseases. To date, Dr. Fawzi has been published 37 times in neurological journals, including the American Journal of Medical Genetics, the European Journal of Paediatric Neurology and Qatar Medical Journal. 

In addition to his roles at Sidra Medicine, Hamad Medical Corporation and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Dr. Fawzi is also director of a pediatric neurology fellowship program and a visiting professor at Kingston University, London, UK.

Dr. Fawzi gained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Benha University, Benha, in 1984. He subsequently received his M.D. in pediatrics from the Arab Board in Qatar in 1993, before joining HMC in 1995.

Dr. Fawzi has contributed to books on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and epilepsy. He is currently the lead PI on three research projects.
