Self-Study/Online Unit : Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Board Review Course (LMBRC)

  • Self-study/online unit access is included in the course fee. The online access to the 4th edition of the LMBRC will be activated within 2 weeks of registration for the certificate of lifestyle medicine course.
  • Email iph@qatar-med.cornell.edu to schedule the Board Review Course Manual 4th Edition delivery/pick up.
  • To receive the self-study/online unit certificate, please complete the entire LMBRC, 4th Edition by October 25, 2026 (11.59 PM Qatar time).
  • The certificate will be issued based upon completed hours of the LMBRC 4th Edition as of October 25, 2026.
  • The certificate will be sent by email by November 15, 2026.
  • Category 2 credits can be claimed for the self-study/online unit.
  • Completing the 30 hours of the self-study/online unit will meet the 30-hour online CME requirement for the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine Exam

Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Board Review Course, 4th Edition

The Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Board Review Course delivers the core knowledge every lifestyle medicine clinician needs. Comprehensive and self-paced, it’s the trusted study tool for certification prep—expertly designed to boost your confidence on test day and empower you to apply lifestyle medicine in practice.

This evidence-based course is designed to provide a review and successfully prepare candidates for the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine Exam.

Course development was led by coauthors and faculty Jeni Shull Clayton, MD, MPH, DipABLM, FACLM, and Jonathan Bonnet, MD, MPH, DipABOM, DipACLM, FAAFP, FACLM, with additional support from subject matter experts in the field of lifestyle medicine. 

The Foundations Lifestyle Medicine Board Review Course is comprised of 10 sections, with 12 lectures, and consists of 30 hours of content.

Each section is broken down with the following course materials:

  • Introduction
  • Review lecture
  • Quiz
  • Survey evaluation

This course expires December 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST.  

Learning Objectives

  1. Review the pillars of evidence-based lifestyle medicine and how it can prevent, treat and reverse disease.
  2. Review evidence-based lifestyle medicine prescriptions and their clinical application.
  3. Review evidence-based lifestyle medicine content that will be tested on the Lifestyle Medicine Board Certification Exam.

Format

The Foundations of Lifestyle Medicine Board Review, 4th edition, is hosted online via the ACLM Learning Management System and consists of 3 main components:

Component 1

Board Review Course Manual (20 hours): The interactive eBook manual is available after course purchase and can be accessed offline and via mobile device. The 354-page eBook consists of 10 sections with detailed graphics, table, and figures and an index.

Component 2

Section Review Lectures (10 hours): There are 10 hours of review lectures that correspond with the board review eBook.

Component 3

Section Quizzes: There are 10 section quizzes that consist of 180 total questions, that correspond with each of the 10 eBook sections and review lectures

Section Survey Evaluation: Each of the 10 section review lectures include a survey evaluation.

Key Lifestyle Medicine Article Summaries: A downloadable PDF that summarizes 10 “key” lifestyle medicine articles is included in this course as an additional bonus resource.
