Marcus Lance, MD, PhD
Senior Consultant Anesthesiology, Department of Anesthesiology, Hamad Medical Corporation.
Marcus Lancé (born on May 17th, 1970). I studied medicine in Berlin at the Medical School of the Free University (1991-1995) and the Charité (1995 - 1996). In 1997, I entered my residency in anesthesiology at the Kliniken MariaHilf, Department of Anesthesiology, Mönchengladbach, from which I moved in 2001 to the University Hospital of the RWTH Aachen. Here I finalized my specialization in anesthesiology and the super-specialization in intensive care. After a two year interim period at the Thorax Centre Rotterdam (the Netherlands), where I gained a high degree of experience in cardiac anesthesiology, I moved in 2006 to the Departments of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine of the MUMC+ of Maastricht. In 2017 I changed to Hamad Medical Corporation, where I have the challenge to build up research of the Department of Anaesthesiology. My focus of interest is coagulation, hemostasis and thrombosis with regard to optimize treatment algorithms. This topic also covered my PhD thesis. Our group developed a mock circulation model in which we investigate the coagulation pattern during extracorporeal circulation. I (co-)authored about 25 scientific papers.
