The Orientation Programs at WCMC-Q are mandatory for all incoming students. The interactive program serves to familiarize students with the faculty, their classmates, WCMC-Q facilities, and university policies and regulation. This is achieved through a variety of lectures, activities, presentations, formal discussions and social gatherings. Many logistical processes are also taken care of during this time such as issuing of student ID’s, lockers, mailboxes, and vehicle permits.

Students of WCMC-Q enter the college with a cohort that could remain together for the duration of the Foundation, Pre-Medical and Medical programs. For this reason, students also participate in university-organized activities such as bowling, icebreakers and other team-building exercises to help foster strong life-long relationships with one another. Students also participate in a community service activity, which aims at enhancing their social belonging and the concept of giving back to their community.

The students are officially welcomed to the college by the Dean and the WCMC-Q faculty at a ceremony entitled “The Opening Exercises.” This is an open event where family and loved ones are encouraged and welcomed to attend. All other aspects of Orientation are for students only.

The tentative dates for the 2012-2013 Foundation and Pre-Medical Orientations are scheduled to run August 27 – 30, 2012. For more details, refer back to this site in the coming months.
