Janette Samaan, PhD
For the past decade, Dr. Samaan served as the senior director of the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities program at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). In that capacity, she has founded a global network of medical schools, teaching hospitals, and NGOs, today encompassing 41 nations, facilitating international mobility for medical and public health students in a wide spectrum of electives. For 30 years prior to AAMC, Samaan held numerous university positions in international higher education. She earned a PhD in higher education administration from the University of Hawaii with a focus on international education and an MA in international studies from Ohio University.
