Dr. Stella Major holds a full-time faculty position in the Division of Medical Education at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). She is an associate professor and director of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Lab. 

Dr. Major obtained her medical degree from the Imperial College School of Medicine, in London, and specialized in general practice at the Northwick Park Hospital, London. She holds diplomas in child health (DCH), obstetrics and gynecology (DRCOG) and family planning (DFFP), and is board certified in general practice in the UK. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP-UK) and in 2011 was promoted to Fellow of the Royal College of General Practice (FRCGP-UK) for her contributions to education, research, and clinical practice both in the UK and internationally. She maintains an active license to practice as a general practitioner in the UK and Qatar.

Since 2017, she has been a member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and holds the SSH certification as Advanced Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE-A). She completed the Comprehensive Simulation Instructor Course at the Harvard Center for Medical Simulation and in 2019 was invited to become a SimUni faculty member at the Society for Simulation in Europe (SESAM). Since 2023, she serves as associate editor to the journal Advances in Simulation.

Dr. Major holds numerous awards in teaching and educational innovation and grants for course design and research in medical education. She serves as deputy national representative to the International Association for Communication in Healthcare (EACH). She is faculty mentor to WCM-Q medical students who take an interest in exploring the use of virtual reality technology to enhance empathy and humanism in medicine.

 Dr. Major is of British Armenian heritage, speaks numerous languages and has a keen interest in linguistics, dance (traditional and modern) and photography.
