Dr. Liam Fernyhough joined Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) as Assistant Professor of Medicine in March 2015. Before coming to WCM-Q, he was at the University of Otago, Christchurch, Medical School, New Zealand, where he served as a Consultant in Clinical and Laboratory Hematology and a Senior Lecturer and course convenor for the hematology module at the Medical School. Since joining WCM-Q he has been involved in teaching and education at all levels of the program in roles as Course Director, Unit Leader and as a member of FSCC, FSEC, MECPC and the P&G committee.  

He is Unit Lead for Patient care and Physicianship in HID1 with a focus on clinical reasoning, physical examination teaching and improving the written medical note.

His recent research has focussed on the use of AI supported immersive 3D Virtual reality simulated patient encounters.
