Ms. Deema Al-Sheikhly is a Lecturer of Education in Medicine and the Director of Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development at the Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). In her current capacity, she offers strategic oversight for the development, direction and coordination of the business, financial and operational functions of both divisions.

Ms. Al-Sheikhly began her journey at WCM-Q in 2006, progressing from Clinical Curriculum Administrator to Manager of Graduate Medical Education and then to Director of Continuing Professional Development. Notably, she co-led efforts to secure local recognition of WCM-Q as a provider of CME and CPD by the Department of Healthcare Professions as well as International recognition by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) as a provider of CME for physicians. In 2020, her impact expanded further as she took on the additional responsibility of Directing the Division of Medical Education, underscoring her commitment to advancing medical education at all levels.

Beyond her administrative roles, Ms. Al-Sheikhly is an accomplished educator, having developed and taught in diverse educational programs. Her expertise extends to undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education, and her contributions have been acknowledged through presentations and publications in these domains. Her academic journey reflects her commitment to excellence. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biotechnology from Kings College London, a Masters of Research in Bioprocessing from University College London, and a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University, USA. Her academic background aligns seamlessly with her passion for nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
