The first paper will discuss:
- Importance of targeting health education efforts to primary care professionals to improve their cancer referral processes, communication skills, cultural competency skills and how to break bad news to patients.
- Working with the healthcare workforce, research workforce and patient support workforce to provide better patient support
- Lessons learned from knowledge translation efforts and interprofessional education
- Recommendations.
The second paper will discuss:
- Impact of cancer health awareness in the community
- Main challenges in health education efforts for cancer prevention in Qatar
- The importance of multi-sectoral communication and community engagement
- How to use effective educational tools for health communication
- Successful experiences in health awareness
- Recommendations.
The third paper will discuss will discuss:
- Programs to support and empower individuals living with and beyond cancer
- How patients can act as advocates and how organizations can empower those living with and beyond cancer to lead healthier lives
- How to provide effective communication of support and resources for those living with and beyond cancer
- Challenges faced by individuals living with and beyond cancer during and after their cancer journey
- How to activate the community role to support individuals living with cancer
- Recommendations.
