Maha Elnashar is the Director of the Center for Cultural Competence in Healthcare at the Institute for Population Health; Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar. She holds a master’s degree in Comparative Religions, Post-Graduate Diploma in Interpretation & Translation and she is a Ph.D. candidate in Human Development. Ms. Elnashar is a certified trainer of Emotional Intelligence from Talent-Smart Inc.; a licensed Medical Interpretation and Cultural Competence trainer from Cross Cultural Health Care Program in Seattle, USA. She has extensive experience in training healthcare providers and educational professionals on cultural competency and Emotional Intelligence skills. Her research interest focuses on the influence of culture and language on healthcare, and she has published various scholarly articles in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
