Ahmed Veten is a pediatric critical care fellow at Penn State Health children’s Hospital, Hershey Pennsylvania.
Ahmed is a native of Mauritania and attended medical school at the Jordan University of Science and Technology and then went on to finish his pediatric residency at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. Dr. Veten participated in multiple international charity heart missions which aimed to conduct open heart surgeries for adult and children with congenital heart disease.

Since starting fellowship, Dr. Veten has expanded on his clinical interests in metabolic resuscitation in sepsis as well as the post-operative care of children with acquired and congenital heart disease. His academic interests revolve around exploring barriers to effective communication in inpatient settings, procedural safety and ultrasound, and he is leading a number of projects to further knowledge in these fields.
