Hanadi Al-Thani, PhD
Dr. Hanadi Al-Thani holds a Ph.D. in sustainable development and is a graduate of the Government Leaders Program at the Qatar Leadership Center. With over a decade of research and leadership experience, she has authored several policy-focused publications that offer in-depth analyses of clean air regulations, underscoring the role of science-driven approaches in shaping sustainability agendas across national and regional levels. Her work has been instrumental in advancing discourse on air quality, public health impacts, and environmental governance throughout the MENA region.
Bridging engineering and sustainability, Dr. Al-Thani is recognized for her expertise in air pollution characterization and source apportionment, with a particular focus on transport emissions and evidence-based policy interventions. She is also an educational double awardee and a MENA Sustainability Fellow.
In her current role as head of sustainability initiatives at Qatar Foundation, Dr. Al-Thani leads the Smart Campus Program, which integrates sustainability, innovation, and emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—across the Foundation’s ecosystem. She is leading the development of the Smart Campus Strategy to ensure alignment with Qatar Foundation’s institutional goals and the national ambitions outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030, with strategic emphasis on environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and operational excellence.
