Mr. Mohamed is a Technical Officer, Library and Knowledge Sharing, at the World Health Organization, Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (WHO/EMRO), Cairo, Egypt. He has been working for the WHO Regional Office since 1996 in the different areas and activities in the Library with different capacities.

Mr. Mohamed is the manager of the WHO Virtual Health Sciences Library (VHSL) portal and its associated electronic information resources. This includes the WHO Index Medicus for Eastern Mediterranean Region (IMEMR) WHO Institutional Digital Repository (IDR) and IMEMR Journals Directory. Mr. Hatem is a manager of the printing and production of all types of information produced and published by the WHO Regional Office, including the digital archiving of all WHO material.

Previously Mr. Mohamed was in charge of the Central Medical Library, at Alexandria University, in Egypt for 13 years. He is also a member of many national and international professional societies and associations specialized in medical libraries, information technology, and health informatics. Mr. Hatem has two Bachelor's degrees, one in Social Sciences and the second in Medical Librarianship and Information Sciences, from Alexandria University, Egypt.

Mr. Mohamed also has a Master Degree in Information Technology with a focus on using data mining, bibliometrics analysis, and data visualization techniques in the health and biomedical sciences bibliographic databases to improve the awareness of healthcare professionals, researchers, and decision-makers about health and medical issues, and to map the direction and trends of the current health research in Egypt.

Mr. Hatem is interested in the topics related to the areas of medical librarianship, health informatics, information technology, data mining, data visualization, knowledge management, and sharing.
