Ms. Sinéad O’Rourke, MSc, BSc is the Content Development Specialist in the Distributed eLibrary at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). In this role, she focuses on supporting the faculty, researchers and staff at WCM-Q in their scholarly publishing and their health and science communication and outreach efforts. She is passionate about interventions to improve health literacy and access to credible patient health information. Prior to joining WCM-Q, she worked in Ireland and the Middle East as Communications Manager in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically for Roche. In these roles, she led communications and policy advocacy campaigns, often in close collaboration with patient groups, to increase disease awareness, deliver patient education, encourage patient involvement in clinical trials and health technology assessment, and advocate for policy change. Ms. O’Rourke previously held editing roles in the medical publishing industry before joining Roche. She holds a Master’s in Science Communication from Dublin City University in Ireland and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Biology from University College Dublin.
