The outstanding teaching achievements of faculty and staff members over the past academic year were acknowledged at the 2015 Excellence in Teaching Awards.
The awards are determined by votes cast by students in 15 categories and were presented to the winning faculty members at a ceremony held at the college.
Giving the opening remarks at the ceremony, Dr. Marco Ameduri, associate dean for pre-medical education, said: “These awards offer us a valuable opportunity to recognize and reward our faculty for their dedication to their students, their flair for teaching and their effectiveness in communicating very difficult material.
“It gives me great pleasure to offer my congratulations to the winners and also to acknowledge all members of our faculty and staff, whose unflinching support and commitment makes individual successes such as these possible. All of them are truly worthy of our veneration and respect.”
Dr. Lotfi Chouchane, assistant dean for basic science curriculum, then joined Dr. Ameduri on the podium to announce the winners, who were presented with their awards by Dr. Javaid Sheikh, dean of WCMC-Q, in front of a cheering audience of students, faculty and staff.
