Teachers honoured by students
June, 2012

Some of the WCMC-Q faculty members, who were judged by the students
Twelve faculty members came top of the class at this year’s Medical Education Faculty Teaching Awards.
The annual ceremony looks to recognize those WCMC-Q teachers who, in their students’ eyes, have made the greatest difference to their education at the college.
As always, the voting took place in strict secrecy with the results only announced at the awards ceremony on June 10.
Dr. Javaid Sheikh, Dean of WCMC-Q, handed out the awards.
He said: “It would, of course, be nice to be able to honor every one of our teachers; we have a faculty to be proud of at WCMC-Q who place their students in first in everything they do. However, there have to be winners and it is a privilege to see the esteem that these faculty members are held in by their students.
“Everyone appreciates awards and honors but those that are bestowed upon them by their own students must have special significance.”
