Award Winning Teachers
April 2009

Interim Dean Dr. Javaid Sheikh (center) with recipients of the 2009
Annual Faculty Teaching Awards at the awards ceremony .
It’s pretty much unanimous. The great teachers make their lectures really interesting and really care about their students.
That was the verdict of the students who voted for this year’s best teachers. Master of Ceremonies Michael Johnson, PhD, associate dean for pre-medical education, quoted from the students’ nomination forms as he named the winners of the awards. Shared characteristics for the teachers acclaimed by the students was their ability to make their presentations “really interesting” and their “caring” treatment for those in their classes.
