Pre-medical Program Orientation takes place from August 29 to September 1, 2004.

Cornell University's Reading Project at WCMC-Q

This year's reading project for incoming pre-medical students at WCMC-Q is Franz Kafka's

The Trial. Every year, freshmen at Cornell University in Ithaca are asked to read a text which then becomes the focus of talks, discussions and debates during Orientation Week on the campus - and, more widely, among the community in Ithaca.

Activities at WCMC-Q are to be led by Dr. Marco Ameduri and Dr. Bogomil Gerganov, and they include an introduction to the project on Sunday 29th August (1:00), to be followed by a panel discussion of The Trial in Lecture Hall 4 on Monday 30th at 9:00. Students will then meet in small groups with faculty, TAs and a number of returning students, over lunch on Monday and Tuesday, to discuss some of the ideas and questions that have arisen concerning Kafka's work.
